Visa-free entry
Length of visa-free stay depends on nationality (common brackets are 30/60/90 days and longer for some CIS countries). Always verify your exact allowance before you book.
Tip: check with your airline and an official source before travel; rules can change.
e-Visa
Citizens of all countries/territories (incl. Hong Kong, Macao, Taiwan) can apply online via the official portal. Processing is about 3 business days; payment by Visa/Mastercard. Entry/exit with an e-Visa is allowed through Manas (Bishkek), Osh, and designated land checkpoints listed on the portal. e-VISAE-Visa
Tip: print your approval and keep a digital copy; ensure your name and passport number match exactly.
Embassy visa
You can also apply at a Kyrgyz embassy/consulate abroad. In many cases you’ll need visa support (LOI) from a Kyrgyz tour operator/company; some nationalities are LOI-exempt. Requirements vary by consulate—confirm in advance.
Tip: ask which office to apply at and how long issuance takes (timelines differ).
Information usually needed for LOI
Passport scan + personal data (full name, citizenship, date/place of birth, sex, passport no.), marital status, employer/position, consulate city, dates of entry/exit, single/multiple entry, planned cities, visit purpose, address in Kyrgyzstan; if applying outside your citizenship country, a copy of your local visa/permit may be required (varies by operator/consulate).
Tip: submit names exactly as in your passport (same alphabet).
Registration on arrival
Nationals of some countries must register with the Migration Police (OVIR) within 5 days of entry (weekends and day of arrival count); others are exempt for a fixed number of days. Failing to register can lead to a fine and delays on departure. Check whether the rule applies to you; many hotels/hosts can help.
Tip: ask your hotel/host if they can arrange registration for you.
